eJuice 101: The Do's and Don'ts of Vaping in Public

Within the last few years, vaping has taken the world by storm. As of last year, 85% of adults between 18 and 29 in the U.S. have tried vaping or an e-cig product, with 69% of adults between the ages of 30-44 saying they've tried it, too.

While it's wonderful to see so many people enjoying their favorite eJuices, it's lead many to wonder how they should handle vaping in public.

Here are some basic do's and don'ts about public vaping etiquette you'll want to keep in mind

Do: Vape Outdoors

Since vaping is still a new phenomenon, lawmakers are scratching their heads over how they should treat vaping in public spaces.

Currently, there are bans on vaping in most indoor areas, particularly workspaces. Some states also prohibiting vaping in restaurants and bars.

But each state and city has its own rules. Check your local ordinances before taking out your eCig at work.

Don't: Vape Near Kids or Teens

Kids can be impressionable, especially if they see an adult they know doing something.

Sadly, this has caused some high-school children to illegally pick up Juul products at an "epidemic level".

In fact, between 2011 and 2015, e-cig use among high school students rose by 900%.

While vaping is safer than smoking, most eJuices contain trace amounts of nicotine.

It's best to vape away from kids and store your mod and juices in a secure area.

Do: Use Your Vape Break as an Icebreaker

Most people start vaping as a way to quit smoking, an idea that even the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention endorses.

But not everyone is so hip to vaping. In fact, you'll likely find that your coworkers and friends who smoke have a ton of questions about your rig.

Take every chance to share your hobby with others. Taking the time to educate them on the benefits of vaping could save their life.

Don't: Blow Clouds in Crowded Areas

While certain mods will allow you to blow gargantuan clouds, not everyone will share in your joy.

And that's fair.

If you're vaping in a crowded area, make sure to blow your vapor away from the crowd.

Do: Ask Permission if Vaping in Someone's Home

If you're visiting friends and family, don't break out the eJuice right away. Instead, do the courteous thing and ask permission first.

It shows that you care, and can make your vaping experience that much more enjoyable.

Don't: Use Strong eJuices Indoors

One of the best things about vaping is the almost limitless number of eJuices available. From candy and soda inspired flavors to menthol-flavored juices, if you can think of it, there's a juice for it.

While some heavier juices provide the classic tobacco flavor of a cigarette, the scent may not be so pleasant to others.

If you're vaping in public spaces, make sure to keep flavors pleasant and light.
